This week in Science, Year 4 explored patterns between the pitch of a sound and features of the object that produced it. We recapped our understanding of how sound is made when objects vibrate. These vibrations make the air around the object vibrate and the air vibrations travel into our ears.
During our lesson we conducted an experiment related to pitch. We began by making predictions about how the pitch of noise would change when we blew over the top of bottles with different amounts of water in them. Did you know sound can travel through solids, liquids and gases? Comments are closed.
