Modeshift STARS is the national schools'
awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel. |

The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people. Each year, schools are recognised for their efforts through the National STARS School Travel Awards.

Mrs Russo has worked extremely hard to make sure your school travel plan has reached Bronze Accreditation and has now populated the plan with initiatives that will help with the road safety of your pupils and to encourage more sustainable travel to and from school by the parents. You will need to ensure these are completed and updated with pictures of documents to support the actions and then you will be well on your way to Silver Accreditation.
I now have one of my road safety officers helping me with the task of ensuring schools reach Gold Accreditation.
Modeshift STARS school travel plan plays an important part in ensuring you as a school and us as the local authority are doing everything we can to encourage sustainable and active school travel and to make sure you are on the list for funding that becomes available for improvements and safety works outside your school.
