Three quarters of the way through the first term in Year 6 (or nine out of twelve weeks in), we have been delving into a range of subjects across the curriculum.
In mathematics, pupils have been extremely excited to learn about fractions - establishing the importance of equivalence across the range of calculations. Therefore, it has been seen, that four slices of pizza (out of eight) can be equivalent to just one slice (out of two). Crazy! In English, we have continued with the Write Stuff, which the pupils were introduced to at the end of last year in Year 5, writing a recount about events during World War Two. The recount is full of understanding and empathy of the experience of evacuees in the torrid events that unfolded. It has been jam-packed with boomtastics through our shape-finding journey. In science, we have been investigating light and how we see. We have also proven using prisms and wheels that light is made up of eight, yes eight, colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Comments are closed.
