Library Visit
Last week, we had our very first library visit and it was fantastic! Just a short walk from school, we met Meg, the kindest librarian ever. She showed us around and explained everything about the library. We always thought the library was full of adult books, but it was filled with so many children's books, all for free with a library card! We were thrilled to find the entire 13-Storey Treehouse series, one of our absolute favourites.

Writing
We have been reading "The Magic Paintbrush" and delved deep into its mystical world, inspiring our own creative writing. Mr. Green has made the story come alive for us – we practically know it by heart! We have been focusing on direct speech and been trying to remember to use inverted commas. We have been remembering that “said is dead”. Instead, we use more ambitious words like "muttered," "commented," and "spluttered."

Maths
In maths, we're mastering new methods, building confidence, and solving problems faster than ever. We love using column addition and column subtraction to help us solve problems. The brand-new skill we have been learning this week is column multiplication. What's even better? Helping others! Once we've got a grip on a math skill, we love lending a helping hand to our classmates. Because let's face it, maths is more fun when we're all in it together.

Science
Animals including humans is our new topic in science and let us tell you, it's fascinating stuff. We loved looking at all the scientific names for bones in the human body – it made us feel like doctors! Did you know spiders have an exoskeleton? Yep, no bones for these eight-legged wonders! It's mind-blowing facts like these that keep us loving our science lessons!

History
We love our history lessons and are enjoying our new topic of ‘The Romans’. We delved deep into the legend of Romulus and Remus and made our own storyboards to bring the tale to life. And guess what? We were bursting with pride as some of us showcased our creations to other teachers in Year 3. It was a moment to remember! What do we want to learn next? What made the Romans so powerful? I guess we’ll find out in our next History lesson…
