The Blog 
In year 6 we did a PE/dodgeball tournament the winners were blue and red and green tied with yellow by 1 point.         
READING SKILLS
In Reading skills we are starting a new text called 50 things you need to know, which is related to the second world war and is a nonfiction book. We are trying to find some words from the text: civilians, continent, estimated, neutral, colonies, broke out, region and declared, we are finding out what the words mean. Then we will answer some questions about the text. 
MATHS 
In maths we are learning by adding and subtracting fractions three fifths + three fifths = six fifths or 1 whole and one fifths and fractions with different denominators. I love fractions, they are so easy. 

ENGLISH 
In English we are reading a book where there are 2 children that are going to stay with a lighthouse keeper who is young and has a short beard and a black coat because they have been evacuated. The older sister has gone missing. It is set in WW2. 
HISTORY
In history we are learning about world war 2. I brought in a  radio that my dad made, a replica of the one that they would use. I bought a ration book and some posters to start growing crops . All women were encouraged to  get a job. We are learning about evacuation and the kindertransport. 
On the 10th November we did a Remembrance service at the memorial park by school. We sang God save the king and we did a 2 minute silence and laid some wreaths. At the end we went back inside school.

In year 6, computing is amazing because we get to create our own websites. The Remembrance service was incredible and I still can not believe that there were actual World War 2 veterans. Furthermore, our art lesson about Macro Photography was very exciting because I personally think that Macro Photography is a great way to get out and explore nature. In conclusion, year six has been an outstanding experience and I can not wait to learn more awesome things.

In year 6 we have lots of responsibilities. We have been learning about world war 2 in English and History, where children have to get evacuated because of all of the bombs going around in their area. And its where they all had to carry a paper bag with a gas mask in it. Some parents were scared just in case they never got to see their child again, but some Mothers decided to keep their child there .But some children didn’t want to go and some after they left when people decided it was clear of bombs some children didn’t want to go back to their own families, they wanted to stay with the people they were put with and maybe some grew up with them.  When the children first left they didn’t know who they were going with, it was a bunch of strangers to them. But it was for the children's safety. In PE we learnt how to play dodgeball with our whole year group. The teachers  taught us how to play properly and how to stand; hold the ball, and most importantly how to throw and dodge the ball.

In  year 6 we did macro photography and it’s where you go up close to things and take photos then we edited them, we worked with our partner on our table then we went outside in the playground.   
On Friday 10th November we went outside to the memorial and we sang the British national anthem and we stood in 2 minute silence then we read out the WW1 and WW2 names of people who passed in the war. We paid our respect to them. Finally we laid wreaths and left in silence to pay our respect.

Hello, my favourite bit about year 6 is macro photography. Macro photography  is taking a picture of something really close up which makes that  object or thing look really weird /cool which makes it stand out. Also in English we are doing the Write Stuff which makes English so much easier.
