Children in 1BA returned to school after the Christmas break raring to learn. They were extremely excited to know that the History topic for this spring term is ‘Kings and Queens’. During our first History lesson, we discussed our current knowledge of ‘Kings and Queens’ and what we would like to find out over the course of the topic. Here are some of what pupils in 1BA know about British ‘Kings and Queens’. LG – Henry V111 had 6 wives. WD – When the King is present in Buckingham Palace, the flag up is the Union Jack and when away, the Royal Standard is up. LS – It was illegal to divorce when Henry V111 was the King. ZS – There are lots of rooms in Buckingham Palace. AOB – When the Queen died, King Charles 111 became King. AC – There are 80 bathrooms in Buckingham Palace, CM – There are 350 clocks in Buckingham Palace. CH – Buckingham Palace has a big private garden. What children in 1BA would like to find out in History this term. ZS – How many Queens did we have? HR – Wants to know more about the crown. SB – How do we get into the castles? LG – How many Kings were named Henry and when did Henry V111 die? What was the name of the very first King? AC – Palaces Kings and Queens ever lived in. WD – Childhood of all the Kings and Queens.
