As we continue through the spring term, I thought I would share with you some of our PE success over the past few months and let you know what's up and coming until the end of the school year.
We have achieved most recent success in the key step 3 gymnastics, where we placed 3rd overall in Thurrock. Our year 4 team placed 7th overall. The year 3 and year 5 boy's teams both won the Thurrock schools cross country's competition and are through to represent Thurrock at the Essex finals at the end of the term. This is a huge success and one of our best results in the past few years having two teams qualify. Other competitions we have taken part in are as follows- badminton, basketball, tag rugby, football, SEN and KS1 sports hall athletics. Our year 5 6 boys football team have gone unbeaten all season in the league and deserve a special mention for their outstanding performance. Well done boys! The year 5 6 netball team have won 2 out of the 3 games they’ve played this season, they are getting ready for the end of season rally. Upcoming over the next few months, we have the biggest walk, cycle and scooting weeks at the end of March. The big walk and wheel. We will be encouraging children to use sustainable travel throughout these two weeks and compete against other schools up and down the country. The year 6 swimming gala on the 28th March at Basildon sporting village held by St Cleres. This is always a great night for the trust schools who take part. Future competitions- netball rally, cricket for years 3-6 boys and girls, rounders for year 6, and plenty of athletics. I look forward to updating you any further success in the summer term.
