English
In English, we have been using chot boxes to write a narrative about a girl called Rose in WW2. We all find using chot boxes easier than the writing lessons that we did in year 4. Every week or so we have experience days. These are where we take days off from chot boxes and have fun, whilst learning more about the characters or things that we are writing about. Sometimes we re-enact parts or we get a deeper understanding of the text. Class Text After English or if we get time at any point in the day we read our class text ‘Little bad man’. It makes the whole class laugh a lot at it and we love it! It is based on Humza, who wants to be a rapping superstar with his best friend Umer. We found the bee scene extremely funny. Science In science, we are currently learning about the changes of our body and this week we are going to learn about puberty. Last week we learned about the 6 life stages (Baby, Toddler, Child, Teenager, Adult and elderly) and had a chance to roleplay the changes involved. This was lots of fun and made us all giggle. History In history, we’re learning about the first world war. We have learnt about the different types of trenches, weapons and the cause of world war one. We have looked at the young, boy soldiers who would lie about their ages to enlist in the war. Recently, we have started to learn about WW2 as part of our new English unit. This will help us with our new topic in year 6. Music In music we have been learning the songs: The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and livin’ on a prayer by Bon Jovi. We have enjoyed learning how to sing the songs and exploring the rhythm and beat. By Jacob and Ian Comments are closed.
